The first colour ring recovery

We’ve seen the first colour ringed roller in Hungary. The adult female was ringed by Béla Tokody and Orsolya Kiss near Szatymaz in 2011 on the 22nd of June near Szatymaz .

The main advantage of using colour rings is that the ring code is easily identifiable from a distance with the use of a scope or a camera, allowing us to avoid capturing the birds. The bird on the picture has been proved to be using the same home range as 4 years ago, it was ringed in the same area.
